THE AGE OF OBAMA & THE END OF AMERICA: Secession Movement Explodes - The White House "Secede" Petitions Have Reach 675,000 Signatures, 50-State Participation!

November 14, 2012 - UNITED STATES - Less than a week after a New Orleans suburbanite petitioned the White House to allow Louisiana to secede from the United States, petitions from seven states have collected enough signatures to trigger a promised review from the Obama administration.  By 6:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, more than 675,000 digital signatures appeared on 69 separate secession petitions covering all 50 states, according to a Daily Caller analysis of requests lodged with the White House’s “We the People” online petition system.  A petition from Vermont, where talk of secession is a regular feature of political life, was the final entry.

Petitions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas residents have accrued at least 25,000 signatures, the number the Obama administration says it will reward with a staff review of online proposals. The Texas petition leads all others by a wide margin. Shortly before 9:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, it had attracted 94,700 signatures. But a spokesperson for Gov. Rick Perry said Tuesday afternoon that he does not support the idea of his state striking out on its own.  “Gov. Perry believes in the greatness of our Union and nothing should be done to change it. But he also shares the frustrations many Americans have with our federal government,” according to a statement from the governor’s office.  A backlash Monday night saw requests filed with the White House to strip citizenship rights from Americans who signed petitions to help states secede. And in a similar nose-thumbing aimed at Texas’ conservative majority, progressives from the liberal state capital of Austin responded Monday with a petition to secede from their state if Texas as a whole should decide to leave the Union. Late Tuesday a second group of Texans, this one from Houston, lodged their own White House petition. Secession-minded Texans, they wrote, “are mentally deficient and [we] do not want them representing us. We would like more education in our state to eradicate their disease.”

Houstonian “Kimberly F” — The White House does not provide last names — submitted the petition. She told TheDC in an email that ”[w]e need both sides presented, or we all look like a bunch of fools.”  A group from El Paso, too, wants no part of an independent Texas. “Allow the city of El Paso to secede from the state of Texas,” their petition reads. “El Paso is tired of being a second class city within Texas.”  But smaller petitions like theirs are a political side show of a political side show. One effort, aimed at Missourians, called for a nationwide catered pizza party to celebrate when the Show Me State left the U.S. States whose active petitions have not yet reached the 25,000 signature threshold include Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. - Daily Caller.

GEOLOGICAL UPHEAVAL: Giant Sinkhole Swallowing Up Windermere Home's Front Lawn - 60 Feet Wide and 10 Feet Deep, Second Major Sinkhole in the Area in 2012!

November 14, 2012 - FLORIDA - A sinkhole close to 60 feet wide and 10 feet deep is swallowing the front yard of a home in Windermere.  Now, town engineers said dozens more homes could be in danger of sinkholes as well.  The sinkhole is off Wax Berry Court, which is off Park Avenue.
(PHOTO/Natalie Tolomeo, Staff) A giant sinkhole in the front yard of a home on Wax Berry Court,
in Windermere, is believed to be at least 10 feet deep - Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.
It's a low-lying area between Crescent Lake and Waussian Bay. Engineers said the ground water system connecting the two bodies of water could have caused the sinkhole to form.  "It was about half that size,” said Paul Padfield. “The depth is about twice as deep as it originally was."  Padfield noticed the sinkhole Monday morning after taking his son Alex to school.  "I put up the yellow tape to make sure the public was safe," Padfield said.  Padfield's insurance company's geotechnical engineer has taken over the sinkhole assessment, testing the ground and filing a report, which could be released later today.  However, the hole won't be filled for a couple of days.

"It's going to be questionable whether this is covered or not," Padfield said.  The Padfields moved in two years ago and don't have sinkhole insurance. He said it could cost up to $30,000 to fix the yard.  Neighbors, meanwhile, are scared. Some are thinking twice about purchasing protection against sinkholes.  "That's why we're scrambling to get ours and because if it happens there, it's going to happen elsewhere," said neighbor Charles Mallo.  At this time, engineers are confident that the sinkhole will remain the same size.  They are also thankful two large trees are there because they said the roots have prevented the sinkhole from swallowing the sidewalk.  This is the second major sinkhole to open up in Windermere this year. In May, a massive sinkhole opened up behind a home less than 4 miles away, on Indian Deer Road.  That sinkhole grew to about 60 feet wide and 30 feet deep before crews filled up the hole. The home on Indian Deer Road, however, was deemed unsafe and a total loss. - 13 News.

SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS: The Celestial Convergence - "Diamond Ring" Solar Eclipse Plunges Australia Into Darkness!

November 14, 2012 - AUSTRALIA - From boats bobbing on the Great Barrier Reef, to hot air balloons hovering over the rainforest, and the hilltops and beaches in between, tens of thousands of scientists, tourists and amateur astronomers watched as the sun, moon and Earth aligned and plunged northern Australia into darkness during a total solar eclipse Wednesday.

Tropical North Queensland on November 14, 2012. — Photo by AFP.
Stubborn clouds that many feared would ruin the view parted, somewhat, in north Queensland, defying forecasts of a total eclipse-viewing bust and relieving spectators who had fanned out to glimpse the celestial phenomenon. “Immediately before, I was thinking, ‘Are we gonna see this?’ And we just had a fantastic display, it was just beautiful,” said Terry Cuttle of the Astronomical Association of Queensland, who has seen a dozen total solar eclipses over the years. “And right after it finished, the clouds came back again. It really adds to the drama of it.” Spectators whooped and clapped with delight as the moon passed between the sun and Earth, leaving a slice of the continent’s northeast in sudden darkness.

Starting just after dawn, the eclipse cast its 150-kilometer shadow in Australia’s Northern Territory, crossed the northeast tip of the country and was swooping east across the South Pacific, where no islands are in its direct path. A partial eclipse will be visible from east Indonesia, the eastern half of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and southern parts of Chile and Argentina. Totality, the darkness that happens at the peak of the eclipse, lasted just over two minutes in the parts of Australia where it was visible. Gloomy weather had left many eclipse-chasers who had traveled to Australia from around the globe anxious that they wouldn’t be able to see a thing. But the clouds moved in time for many to watch as the moon blotted out the sun’s rays and cast a shadow over the tropical landscape. Skygazers crowded along palm-fringed beaches, fields and clifftops to watch the event through protective viewing glasses and homemade pinhole cameras that projected the sun’s image onto makeshift screens. Fitness fanatics gathered for the Solar Eclipse Marathon, where the first rays of the sun re-emerging from behind the moon was the starting gun. Some began partying days ago at a weeklong eclipse festival. Scientists were studying how animals respond to the eclipse, with underwater cameras capturing the effects of sudden darkness on the creatures of the Great Barrier Reef. The next total solar eclipse won’t happen until March 2015. - Dawn.

PLANET X MEMES: Closest "Rogue Planet" to Earth Found - Floating and Wandering in Space, 100 Light Years Away, With no Parent Star?!

November 14, 2012 - SPACE - Astronomers using ESO’s Very Large Telescope and the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope have identified a body that is very probably a planet wandering through space without a parent star. These worlds could be common — perhaps as numerous as normal stars. This is the most exciting free-floating planet candidate so far and the closest such object to the Solar System at a distance of about 100 light-years. Its comparative proximity, and the absence of a bright star very close to it, has allowed the team to study its atmosphere in great detail.

This object also gives astronomers a preview of the exoplanets that future instruments aim to image around stars other than the Sun.  “Looking for planets around their stars is akin to studying a firefly sitting one centimetre away from a distant, powerful car headlight,” says Philippe Delorme (Institut de planétologie et d’astrophysique de Grenoble, CNRS/Université Joseph Fourier, France), lead author of the new study. “This nearby free-floating object offered the opportunity to study the firefly in detail without the dazzling lights of the car messing everything up.”  Free-floating planets are planetary-mass objects that roam through space without any ties to a star. Possible examples of such objects have been found before, but without knowing their ages, it was not possible for astronomers to know whether they were really planets or brown dwarfs — “failed” stars that lack the bulk to trigger the reactions that make stars shine.  These rogue objects started to become known in the 1990s, when astronomers found that the point at which a brown dwarf crosses over into the planetary mass range is difficult to determine. More recent studies have suggested that there may be huge numbers of these little bodies in our galaxy, a population numbering almost twice as many as the main sequence stars present.

But astronomers have now discovered an object, labelled CFBDSIR2149, that seems to be part of a nearby stream of young stars known as the AB Doradus Moving Group. The object was identified as part of an infrared extension of the Canada-France Brown Dwarfs Survey (CFBDS), a project hunting for cool brown dwarf stars. The researchers found the object in observations from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope and harnessed the power of ESO’s Very Large Telescope to examine its properties.  The AB Doradus Moving Group is the closest such group to the Solar System. Its stars drift through space together and are thought to have formed at the same time. If the object is associated with this moving group — and hence it is a young object — it is possible to deduce much more about it, including its temperature, mass, and what its atmosphere is made of. There remains a small probability that the association with the moving group is by chance.  The association with the AB Doradus Moving Group would pin down the mass of the planet to approximately 4–7 times the mass of Jupiter, with an effective temperature of approximately 430 degrees Celsius. The planet’s age would be the same as the moving group itself — 50 to 120 million years.  The link between the new object and the moving group is the vital clue that allows astronomers to find the age of the newly discovered object. This is the first isolated planetary mass object ever identified in a moving group, and the association with this group makes it the most interesting free-floating planet candidate identified so far.

The team’s statistical analysis of the object’s proper motion — its angular change in position across the sky each year — shows an 87% probability that the object is associated with the AB Doradus Moving Group, and more than 95% probability that it is young enough to be of planetary mass, making it much more likely to be a rogue planet rather than a small “failed” star. More distant free-floating planet candidates have been found before in very young star clusters, but could not be studied in detail.  Free-floating objects like CFBDSIR2149 are thought to form either as normal planets that have been booted out of their home systems, or as lone objects like the smallest stars or brown dwarfs. In either case these objects are intriguing — either as planets without stars, or as the tiniest possible objects in a range spanning from the most massive stars to the smallest brown dwarfs.  “These objects are important, as they can either help us understand more about how planets may be ejected from planetary systems, or how very light objects can arise from the star formation process,” says Philippe Delorme. “If this little object is a planet that has been ejected from its native system, it conjures up the striking image of orphaned worlds, drifting in the emptiness of space.”  If CFBDSIR2149 is not associated with the AB Doradus Moving Group it is trickier to be sure of its nature and properties, and it may instead be characterised as a small brown dwarf. Both scenarios represent important questions about how planets and stars form and behave.  “Further work should confirm CFBDSIR2149 as a free-floating planet,” concludes Philippe Delorme. “This object could be used as a benchmark for understanding the physics of any similar exoplanets that are discovered by future special high-contrast imaging systems, including the SPHERE instrument that will be installed on the VLT.”  This research is presented in a paper, “CFBDSIR2149-0403: a 4-7 Jupiter-mass free-floating planet in the young moving group AB Doradus?” to appear in Astronomy & Astrophysics on 14 November 2012. - Daily Galaxy.

WORLD WAR III: The Middle East Conflict Escalates - Israel Kills Hamas Leader and Strikes Gaza; Calls Up Reservists; Netanyahu is Ready to "Expand" Operation; Hamas Says Now in "Open War" With Israel and Promises "Gates of Hell"!

November 14, 2012 - MIDDLE EAST - The IDF announces a widespread campaign on “terror targets” and begins bombing the Gaza Strip, preparing for a ground operation. This comes after the head of Hamas’ military wing Ahmed Jabari was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The operation, called “Pillar of Defense”, has been launched by the Israel military. Many of the buildings in downtown Gaza City are on fire after being attacked by Israeli warplanes, RT’s Arabic correspondent Saed Swerky reports on Twitter.

The IDF says all options are on the table in Gaza, including a ground operation. Israeli warships have struck "terror sites" in the Gaza Strip, the military forces confirmed. “Today we sent a clear message to Hamas and other terrorist organizations, and if it becomes necessary we are prepared to expand the operation,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address on Wednesday. The country’s Defense Minister Ehud Barak declared a special situation in all Israeli territory, covering the area up to a radius of 40 kilometers around the Gaza Strip, the Jerusalem Post said. The minister said that Israel is just at the start of the action, but in the long term, the operation will restore peace. Israel has started emergency call up of reservists, while saying they are preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza, RT`s Tom Barton reports from Israel. The strikes caused extensive damage to the long-range missile capabilities and underground weapons storage facilities, the IDF said on Twitter. The Gaza Education Ministry has announced a suspension of study at Gaza schools and universities due to heavy fire by Israel. A large explosion occurred near home of Hamas leader, Mahmoud Zahar, Al Arabiya reported. The death toll from some 20 strikes has risen to 10, two of them children, with at least 45 wounded, Gaza`s health minister said. Jabari was traveling in his vehicle in Gaza City when his car was struck, AP reports, citing witnesses. Reports say Jabari, his son and three other people were killed in the strike.

An Israeli strike also targeted Raad Atar, another senior Hamas military wing commander, but he survived, Israeli Ynet reports. The assassination has "opened the gates of hell," the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, were quoted by AFP as saying. The militants vowed to "continue the path of resistance." The IDF stated on its website that it has launched a "widespread campaign on terror sites and operatives in the Gaza Strip" and Jabari was its first target. He's the highest ranking Hamas official to be killed since 2009, when Israel conducted ground offensive against Gaza. “The purpose of this operation was to severely impair the command and control chain of the Hamas leadership, as well as its terrorist infrastructure. This was a surgical operation in cooperation with the Israeli Security Agency, that was implemented on the basis of concrete intelligence and using advanced capabilities,” the statement said. The crackdown follows the recent escalation of violence in the region. The conflict broke out last week when Palestinian militants attacked at an Israeli military jeep. Israel responded with retaliatory attacks, to which the Gaza Strip replied with heavy rocket fire at southern Israel. Jabari is the most senior Hamas official to be killed since Operation Cast Lead in Gaza four years ago. He is believed to be behind the notorious abduction and detention of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who was held hostage for more than four years until being released last year as part of a hostage swap deal. - RT.

PLANETARY TREMORS: 6.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest of Vallenar, Chile!

November 14, 2012 - CHILE - A strong 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck off Chile's central-north area, but authorities say no injuries or damage are reported.

USGS map.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake's epicenter was 55 miles (88 kilometers) north of Coquimbo, Chile, and had a depth of 37 miles (61 kilometers). It struck Wednesday, shortly after 4 p.m. local time.

The Interior Ministry Emergency Office says no damages to infrastructure have been reported but some phone lies in the region are down.

The quake was mildly felt in the capital Santiago, where it shook buildings and in the port of Valparaiso. - NBC.

Seismotectonics of South America (Nazca Plate Region):
The South American arc extends over 7,000 km, from the Chilean margin triple junction offshore of southern Chile to its intersection with the Panama fracture zone, offshore of the southern coast of Panama in Central America. It marks the plate boundary between the subducting Nazca plate and the South America plate, where the oceanic crust and lithosphere of the Nazca plate begin their descent into the mantle beneath South America. The convergence associated with this subduction process is responsible for the uplift of the Andes Mountains, and for the active volcanic chain present along much of this deformation front. Relative to a fixed South America plate, the Nazca plate moves slightly north of eastwards at a rate varying from approximately 80 mm/yr in the south to approximately 65 mm/yr in the north. Although the rate of subduction varies little along the entire arc, there are complex changes in the geologic processes along the subduction zone that dramatically influence volcanic activity, crustal deformation, earthquake generation and occurrence all along the western edge of South America. - USGS.

MASS BIRD DIE-OFF: "Harrowing Sight" of Thousands of Birds Dropping Out of the Sky in England - Birds Are Exhausted, Disoriented, Thousands Drown?!

November 14, 2012 - ENGLAND - Exhausted and disoriented garden birds are dropping from the sky into the sea off England's south coast. Fishermen have reported seeing hundreds of common migratory birds plunging to the deaths in the past week.

Thousands of common garden birds have fallen from the sky into the sea off the English coast. Picture: Supplied.
“While fishing about 10 miles south of Portsmouth, we witnessed thousands of garden birds disorientated, land on the sea and most drowning,” one boat skipper told Britain’s Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). “Species included goldcrests, robins, thrushes and blackbirds. The sky was thick with garden birds. I estimate I saw 500 birds die and that was just in our 300-yard sphere. “On the way home we just saw dead songbirds in the water: it was a harrowing sight.” RSPB conservation director Martin Harper said the scale of the deaths was shocking and could affect the survival of the bird species.

Experts believe the birds fell victim to a combination of fog and heavy winds as they travelled across the north sea from Scandinavia. “We think that these birds left Scandinavia in good weather conditions, which is what birds are evolved to do, and they were drifting along the North Sea where they encountered the foggy conditions that we had a few weeks ago,” Graham Madge of the RSPB told Radio 4's Material World programme. “We started receiving reports from fishermen along the south coast ... saying that there boat was surrounded by hundreds of birds many of which were just so tired and disorientated that they dropped into the sea. “This is particularly unusual; it's birds like thrushes, robins and a whole variety of other species that can be very good long distance migrants.” - Herald Sun.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC MELTDOWN: The Euro-Zone Crisis - Mega Strike Hits Europe, Protests Against Harsh Austerity Measures!

DISASTER IMPACT: Quake Death Toll Climbs After Additional Bodies Discovered in Guatemala - 44 Dead; 9,414 Houses Damaged; Thousands Displaced; State of Emergency in 8 Provinces!

November 4, 2012 - GUATEMALA - Guatemalan emergency agencies recovered two bodies that had been buried in rubble since the powerful earthquake that struck the country last week, bringing the official death toll from the disaster to 44, authorities said Tuesday.

The latest victims were found in two communities in San Marcos province, the region most affected by the magnitude-7.2 temblor that struck the Central American nation last Wednesday.  Participating in the recovery efforts are dozens of soldiers and firefighters as well as residents of the San Marcos communities.

Besides the 44 fatalities, the quake left 9,414 houses damaged and forced thousands of people into temporary shelters.  Authorities have still not tabulated the economic losses from the earthquake but President Otto Perez - who is visiting the affected areas - said on Tuesday that an estimate could be in hand by next Friday.  The government decreed a state of emergency in eight of the country’s 22 provinces to facilitate the sending of aid to the affected zones and the process of reconstruction.  Last week’s earthquake was the strongest to hit Guatemala since the Feb. 4, 1976, magnitude-7.5 temblor that claimed the lives of more than 25,000 people and caused millions of dollars in damage. - Hispanically Speaking News.

GLOBAL VOLCANISM: Alaska's Redoubt Volcano Blows Off Some Steam!

November 14, 2012 - ALASKA - At the Alaska Volcano Observatory, volcanologists get up close and personal with their research subjects — even when they don't look so friendly.  In the above photo, Rick Wessels, a geophysicist, creeps through the Chigmit Mountains of Alaska to get a good look at Redoubt, a volcano that erupted as recently as 2009.

CREDIT: Game McGimsey - AVO/USGS.
Wessels is acquiring thermal images of Redoubt's dome with a state of the art tool known as the FLIR. FLIR stands for "forward-looking infrared imaging." This technique lets scientists look at the infrared radiation emitted from a heat source, such as a volcano. Volcanologists often use FLIR images to keep tabs on active volcanoes.  Redoubt is a 10,196-foot-high (3,108 meters) glacier-covered stratovolcano, about 105 miles (170 kilometers) southwest of Anchorage, in Lake Clark National Park.

The volcano formed beginning about 890,000 years ago and a collapse of its summit some 10,500-13,000 years ago produced a major debris avalanche that spread across the region, according to the Smithsonian's Global Volcanism Program. An eruption in 1989 hurt the region's economy and halted air travel across the globe.  The volcano's last known eruption was in 2009, and a series of small earthquakes rumbled for a few days in April 2010. - Our Amazing Planet.

SOLAR WATCH: Geomagnetic Storm in Progress - G2 Level Conditions Can Cause Transformer Damage, Power Grid Fluctuations, and Voltage Alarms at High-Latitude Power Systems!

November 14, 2012 - SUN - Geomagnetic storm conditions are currently in progress in the wake of CME passage. A prolonged period of southward interplanetary magnetic field brought G2 (Moderate) Geomagnetic Storm conditions early on November 14 (UTC), evening hours November 13 (EST) according to report by NOAA/SWPC.

Ole C. Salomonsen sends this picture of the display over Tromsø, Norway: "Tonight was a spectacular night,"
he says. "This for sure was the strongest auroras so far this season. The magnetograms at the University of
Tromsø went bananas! Tromsø is a city of about 70,000, so it has a lot of light pollution; even so, the auroras
were clearly visible standing in the middle of the city. It was just sick! Once a year the Arctic cathedral in
Tromsø is lit in blue to put focus on diabetes. This was the first night it was lit blue this year, and man was I
lucky to get one of the strongest outbreaks I have ever seen just above it. This was just a mindblowing
visual and astronomical experience. I came home with almost 500GB of photos." - Spaceweather.
G2 level conditions can cause power grid fluctuations and voltage alarms at high-latitude power systems, and even transformer damage in case of long-duration storms. Corrective actions to orientation for spacecrafts may be required by ground control and possible changes in drag can affect orbit predictions. HF radio propagation can fade at higher latitudes, and aurora could be seen as low as New York and Idaho. Planetary K index reached Kp=6 levels (G2) and now is showing Kp=5 value (G1). This conditions may persist for a few more hours. Currently, geomagnetic storm conditions are at G1 (Minor) levelwhich can cause weak power grid fluctuations and minor impact on satellite operations. Migratory animals are affected at this and higher levels and aurora is commonly visible at high latitudes. The Bz component turned negative around 23:00 UTC on November 13, and has since had values between -10 and -20 nT.

Protons have a slight chance of reaching alert threshold for the next 48 hours. Solar activity has been at high levels for the past 24 hours. Sunspot 1613, located in the southeast quadrant, has developed a Delta magnetic configuration and produced multiple M-class flares with associated CMEs. Three M-Class solar flares were observed in the last 36 hours, with largest registered as M6.0 at 02:04 UTC. At the moment, at least two minor CMEs are visible in Lasco C2 imagery. Luckily, it appears they’re directed to the south and east and not towards Earth. Sunspots 1613 and 1614 are closely monitored for further flare activity. Region 1613 now has two small delta configurations with strong magnetic gradients. The region is bright in H-alpha and further growth seems likely. Regions 1610 and 1611 have Beta Gamma magnetic configurations. NOAA/SWPC forecasters estimate 65% chance of M-class and 15% chance of X-class solar flare in the next 24 hours. - NOAA/SWPC.

2012, THE NIGHT OF THE LAST KATUN: Doomsday or Golden Age - Mayan Elder Ac Tah Speaks on What Will Happen on December 21st, 2012!

November 14, 2012 - UNITED STATES - Ac Tah, of the Mayan people, gave a talk in Santa Monica in October. In the following video presentation, he speaks about what will happen around December 21st, 2012 and the significance to the world.
Ac Tah.

On the Maya Calendar: “The Maya were aware that time is infinite and could be counted to infinity, however they left us a calendar up to the year 2012 to leave it to our generation to commence a new count, in the light of a new spiritual awareness.”

On the Meso-American Pyramids: “Pyramids  are  a natural technology, built by our ancestors to transmit ultrasound frequencies that activate the pineal gland of the brain, opening up perception to a wider range of spiritual frequencies and thus for us to become aware that we  are part of a whole….”

On Actah’s Mission: “We are not looking for followers, nor promoting a certain philosophy; we are uniting and motivating people so we can live as one body, in peace and harmony!”

On your responsibility: “The shift towards a harmonious and well balanced humanity  is not the responsibility of only one person, but of every human being on the planet.”

On the year 2000 hype:  “…some even thought that God would be physically there to judge us, and that the good people would go to Heaven and the rest would be sent to Hell. We are still waiting for someone to appear with a magical staff in his hand to change the  world, but that is never going to happen, because the shift towards a harmonious and well balanced humanity  is not the responsibility of only one person, but of every human being on the planet. You cannot assume your responsibility on December 22nd of the year 2012. You must assume it now, precisely today, as you are reading this book.”

Messages given to Ac Tah from departed Maya Kings: “ … the true legacy of  the Maya is in the pyramids, in the steles. The information is everywhere for you to use and carry out a revolution of consciousness… Evolution is all about emotion, passion, joy, happiness, energy and love. If humans cannot experience this, they are dead men walking , and they’d better get down to searching for the true meaning of their lives.” - Ac Tah 2012.

UFO SIGHTINGS: Mysterious Oval-Shaped Craft Hovers Over Perthshire, United Kingdom!

November 14, 2012 - UNITED KINGDOM - A UFO investigation has been launched after a chef filmed a mystery oval-shaped object hovering over a wood.  Adrian Musat, 40, of Pitlochry, Perthshire, saw the white light floating over Clunie Wood in Perthshire.

UFO: Adrian Musat spotted the white light.
He recorded the mysterious light, before sending the tape off to supernatural investigators, the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA).  The father, who lives with his wife Nicoleta and two-year-old son Alex, said: "I have never seen anything like it.  "I watch out the window every day and we have a beautiful view, but I have never seen such a strange thing. It didn't make any noise."  Adrian first saw the unexplained sight from his home at 7.30am on the morning of Bonfire Night before it reappeared ten hours later.  He said the flashing UFO, which was flying above the woodland near Loch Fiskally, was about five metres wide and its colours were constantly changing.

Since then, Adrian has peered out of his window every day hoping for another sighting, but to no avail.  It is not the first mysterious object that has been seen in Pitlochry.  On August 4, 1990, two men saw a large UFO hovering for ten minutes in the nearby village of Calvine.  Matt Lyons, of BUFORA, said they have launched an investigation into Adrian's footage and will be speaking to Adrian in the near future to gather a wider understanding of the incident.  He said: "Investigation has commenced and I will be contacting the witness shortly."  A fortnight before Mr Musat's sighting an Aberdeenshire family were left terrified after a UFO invaded the skies above their home for nearly five hours.  Grandmother Morag Ritchie, 50, awoke suddenly at 2am on Saturday to see strange lights circling in the distance a few hundred yards from her rural property near Fraserburgh — about 100 miles north of Pitlochry.  In the video, taken by her daughter's fiancee, Scott Bower, a row of flickering lights can be seen hovering in the sky, before one of the lights moves off to the right and disappears. - STV News.

GLOBAL VOLCANISM: Smoke From the Last Mount Fuji Eruption Reached 23km - New Research Forecast Probable Disaster if Japan Suffers From a Similar Eruption, Experts Call For Greater Preparedness Measures!

November 14, 2012 - JAPAN - New research into the 1707 eruption of Mount Fuji, the most recent in the mountain's history, has produced troubling results, indicating probable disaster if present-day Japan suffered a similar eruption. New calculations made by the Hot Springs Research Institute of Kanagawa Prefecture in Odawara found that volcanic smoke from the eruption reached as high as 23 kilometers, much higher than previously believed. The findings suggest tremendous energy may have been released by the eruption.

Mt. Fuji.

Experts are now calling for greater preparedness measures because such an eruption occurring today would likely paralyze many urban functions in the Tokyo metropolitan area for an extended period. Kazutaka Mannen, a senior researcher at the institute, and researchers at Nihon University reviewed the records of the accumulation of volcanic ash and rock to calculate the amount of magma that erupted each second. Using a calculation formula, they determined the height of the volcanic smoke. After consulting documents from the time, the researchers calculated that after the eruption began at about 10 a.m. on Dec. 16, 1707, it continued for about 90 minutes, sending smoke as high as 23 kilometers. The eruption weakened for a time, and smoke reached heights between 12 and 22 kilometers by the evening of Dec. 19. After another pause, the eruption resumed, sending volcanic smoke to heights of between 14 and 20 kilometers until the morning of Dec. 30. Officials of the institute said until now, researchers believed that the smoke only went as high as about 15 kilometers. If volcanic smoke reaches the stratosphere, which stretches from 10 to 50 kilometers above the earth's surface, volcanic ash can be carried great distances by westerly winds.

According to the Meteorological Agency, recent observations of domestic volcanic eruptions did not find any in which volcanic smoke reached the stratosphere. In the 2000 eruption of Sakurajima in Kagoshima Prefecture, for example, the smoke reached a height of five kilometers, while the eruption on Miyakejima island that same year sent smoke up to a height of eight kilometers. In the 2011 eruption at Mount Shinmoedake, in the Kirishima range in southern Kyushu, the volcanic smoke reached a height of three kilometers. However, studies have found that ash from the 1707 eruption of Mount Fuji was carried more than 150 kilometers, reaching as far as the Pacific coast of Ibaraki Prefecture. During the March 2010 eruption in Iceland, volcanic smoke reached heights of at least 10 kilometers, leading to the suspension of flights into and out of 29 nations in Europe. The closure of several airports affected flights to Europe from around the world. Setsuya Nakata, a professor at the Volcano Research Center of the Earthquake Research Institute at the University of Tokyo, said the latest findings shed new light on the largest eruption in Japan over the past 300 years. "There is the possibility the effects from the volcanic ash that reached the stratosphere likely had a global impact," he said. "Using those results to think about the situation today, we clearly need to consider the effects on flight routes." - The Asahi Shimbun.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE: Marc Faber - "Prepare For A Massive Market Meltdown"?!

November 14, 2012 - UNITED STATES - The markets are going to go into meltdown soon, so expect stocks to lose 20 percent of their value, Marc Faber, author of the Gloom, Boom and Doom report told CNBC on Tuesday.

“I don’t think markets are going down because of Greece, I don’t think markets are going down because of the ‘fiscal cliff’ — because there won’t be a ‘fiscal cliff,’ ” Faber told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “The market is going down because corporate profits will begin to disappoint, the global economy will hardly grow next year or even contract, and that is the reason why stocks, from the highs of September of 1,470 on the S&P, will drop at least 20 percent, in my view.” Faber, who is known for his bearish views, cited tech giant Apple [AAPL 542.898 0.068 (+0.01%)], a company whose disappointing earnings have caused its stock to fall 20 percent from its September highs and 14 percent in the past month. A series of poor quarterly earnings from corporate giants such as [AMZN 226.60 0.13 (+0.06%)], McDonald's [MCD 84.64 -0.24 (-0.28%)] and Google [GOOG 659.0532 -6.8468 (-1.03%)] have hurt investor sentiment in recent weeks. Faber argued that the “fiscal cliff,” a rise in taxes and automatic spending cuts, would actually involve some minor tax increases in “five years’ time” and some spending cuts “in 100 years.”

What the U.S. needed was some pain, he said, aptly demonstrated by the euro zone’s austerity measures that are attempting, with a mixed measure of success, to curb gaping budget deficits. “There will be pain and there will be very substantial pain. The question is do we take less pain now through austerity or risk a complete collapse of society in five to 10 years’ time?” he said, adding that there was a lack of political will to tackle the U.S. budget. Faber identified several issues curbing an economic recovery, such as the real estate market, which he said had never been so “overbuilt.” He also said there was lots more deleveraging ahead. “In the Western world, including Japan, the problem we have is one of too much debt and that debt now will have to be somewhere, somehow repaid or it will slow down economic growth,” Faber said. “I think we lived beyond our means from 1980 to 2007, and now it’s payback period.” Faber told CNBC that central bank stimulus was useless and the implosion of markets was the only way to restructure the financial system. “I think the whole global financial system will have to be reset and it won’t be reset by central bankers but by imploding markets — either the currency [markets, debt market or stock markets,” he said. “It will happen — it will happen one day and then we’ll be lucky if we still have 50 percent of the asset values that we have today.” - CNBC.

PLANETARY TREMORS: New Madrid Seismic Zone - UT Scientist Says East Tennessee Could One Day See 7.5 Magnitude Earthquake!

November 14, 2012 -  UNITED STATES - Areas of East Tennessee were shaking Saturday after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck Whitesburg, Kentucky.  University of Tennessee professor Dr. Bob Hatcher said the earthquake could be felt for miles across states because the fault occurred within a plate, not between two plates where the crust is less intact.

East Tennessee has the second most active seismic zone in the Eastern United States.
"We don't know what the cause is exactly but there are forces moving plates all the time," said Dr. Hatcher. "But why do we have earthquakes within the plates? We do not know."  Hatcher said East Tennessee has the second most active seismic zone in the Eastern United States, but that normally the earthquakes in East Tennessee are smaller, keeping damage to a minimum.  That may not always be the case.  Hatcher said evidence shows there has been a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in the area, but the large earthquake happened hundreds of years ago.  "The people who figure probability on earthquakes for the U.S. Geological Survey say this area could produce a magnitude 7.5," he said.

His research seeks to find out when large earthquakes in East Tennessee have happened in the past and how frequently they recur.  He hopes the discovery of this information will give scientists an idea of when the next large earthquake could hit the area.  Hatcher said when and if that happens again, there will be damage.  "There would still be damage to roads, you'd have overpasses come down, you'd have bridges that might have cracks in them, and some bridges might fall," he said.  Hatcher said many buildings and homes would fall, but the dams and nuclear power plants should survive the shaking.  He said no matter the size of the quake, though, people should be prepared.  He advises homeowners to move from flood plains and if they live near a lake, be cognizant that a wave could come up 20 to 30 feet on the shore.  Residents should also have food and water and be prepared for a loss of electricity, he said, because there's no telling when the next one will happen. - WATE.

EXTREME WEATHER: Heavy Rain Brings Havoc to Haiti - United Nations Declare Major Food Shortage in the Disaster-Ravaged Country After Hurricane Sandy!

November 14, 2012 - HAITI - The rain has tapered off in Haiti and floodwaters no longer claw at houses, but the situation across much of the country remains grim following an autumn of punishing rains. Scores of people have died and experts fear food shortages loom.

Hurricane Sandy destroyed several areas of the capital, Port au Prince.
Heavy rains began falling even before Hurricane Sandy hit on October 24 and dropped more than 20 inches of rain within a 24-hour period.  “It took away my whole home. Now I don’t have anything,“ said Solange Calixte, a 56-year-old mother of two whose home in Croix-des-Missions was largely destroyed by floodwaters of the nearby Gray River.  Another front soaked much of the north late last week, leaving at least a dozen dead. So far the back-to-back storms have killed up to 66 people. The UN says 90 per cent of Haiti’s current harvest season may have been lost. The World Food Programme estimates that more than 1.5 million people are now at risk of malnutrition. - Jamaica Observer.

The UN in Haiti says 1.5 million people remain at risk of not having proper access to food in 2013 due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy and other natural disasters.  The situation has been made worse by a drought earlier this year, it says.  At least 54 people died as Hurricane Sandy hit the impoverished Caribbean nation two weeks ago.  The country is still struggling to recover from a devastating earthquake in January 2010.  During the spring and summer of this year, rural households in northern parts of Haiti were badly hit by drought.  Then, Tropical Storm Isaac caused extensive damage in August.  Two months of heavy rain followed before Haiti was hit by Hurricane Sandy on 23 October.

An estimated 21,000 people were left homeless by the hurricane, which also destroyed at least 70% of crops of yam, corn and banana in the south of the country.  The UN's World Food Programme says many areas remain isolated.  The Haitian government and the WFP have now appealed for an extra $39m (£24m) to continue distributing food, to rehabilitate agricultural land and for flood control.  It has continued to rain heavily in most of Haiti since the hurricane.  Floods in the country's second biggest city, Cap-Haitien, left at least 20 people dead last week.  "We didn't even have anything. And now, we have lost everything," Rochenel Cineus, a Cap-Haitien resident told the AFP news agency.  The father of three has been sleeping in the streets with his family since Thursday night. - BBC.
