WAR DRUMS: China Making Dangerous Military Moves - Beijing Set To Seize South China Sea Island By Force As It Conducts First Test Of New Ultra-High Speed Missile Vehicle; And Japan Hold War Drill, Simulating Island Retake From China!

January 13, 2014 - CHINA - Reports out of Chinese state media indicate that Beijing is set to invade an island in the South China Sea “illegally occupied” by US ally the Philippines, stoking concerns that the tension filled region could explode.

China Set To Seize South China Sea Island By Force

The article originally appeared at under the headline, ‘Sudden major move of Chinese troops this year to recover Zhongye Island by force’, and was translated by the China Daily Mail.
Relying on US support, the Philippines is so arrogant as to announce in the New Year that it will increase its navy and air force deployment at Zhongye Island, a Chinese island that it has illegally occupied for years.

It will be an intolerable insult to China

According to experts, the Chinese navy has drawn a detailed combat plan to seize the island and the battle will be restricted within the South China Sea.
The report goes on to state that the “battle” will not include a Chinese invasion of Filipino territories, although the Philippines will undoubtedly view Beijing’s attack on Zhongye Island as precisely that since it has been occupied by Filipino troops for over 40 years.

“Of course, claims that “battle will be restricted” are nothing but taunting and should China launch an offensive here, we suspect the already dry and brittle tinder box in the South (and East) China Sea could rapidly escalate,” reports Zero Hedge.

The report arrives hot on the heels of Japan’s announcement that it will “nationalize” around 280 islands in the disputed region, the latest shot across the bow in a tit-for-tat build up that experts have warned heralds the beginning of a new cold war.

China’s latest act of aggression arrives after months of military posturing and bellicose rhetoric.

In October, China sent a surveillance ship to Hawaiian waters for the very first time in an unprecedented move which was described as a provocative retaliation to the U.S. naval presence in the East China Sea.
A lengthy editorial which appeared in Chinese state media last month explained how the Chinese military’s current reformation process was part of a move by President Xi Jinping to prepare the People’s Liberation Army for war in response to US aggression in the Asia Pacific, developments which have prompted “major changes” in China’s national security situation.

Strident rhetoric about Beijing’s ability to attack US military bases in the Western Pacific, as well as the release of a map showing the locations of major U.S. cities and how they would be impacted by a
nuclear strike launched from the PLA’s strategic submarine force also turned heads.

China Conducts First Test Of New Ultra-High Speed Missile Vehicle
An artist's illustration of DARPA's Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 (HTV-2) travelling at 13,000 mph,
or Mach 20, during its Aug. 11, 2011 test flight.

China’s military last week conducted the first flight test of a new ultra-high speed missile vehicle aimed at delivering warheads through U.S. missile defenses, Pentagon officials said.  The test of the new hypersonic glide vehicle was carried out Jan. 9 and the experimental weapon is being dubbed the WU-14 by the Pentagon, said officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The hypersonic vehicle represents a major step forward in China’s secretive strategic nuclear and conventional military and missile programs.  The new hypersonic vehicle was detected traveling at extremely high speeds during the flight test over China, said officials who discussed some details of the test.  The hypersonic craft appears designed to be launched atop one of China’s intercontinental ballistic missiles, and then glides and maneuvers at speeds of up to 10 times the speed of sound from near space en route to its target, the officials said.

A Pentagon spokesman confirmed the test but declined to provide details.  “We routinely monitor foreign defense activities and we are aware of this test,” Marine CorpsLt. Col. Jeffrey Pool, the spokesman, told the Washington Free Beacon.  “However, we don’t comment on our intelligence or assessments of foreign weapon systems,” Pool said in a statement. “We encourage greater transparency [by the People’s Republic of China] regarding their defense investments and objectives to avoid miscalculation,” he added.

The United States, Russia, and China are all engaged in a hypersonic arms race. All three nations are developing high-speed aerospace vehicles. India is also developing a hypersonic variant of its BrahMos cruise missile.  Hypersonic weapons use cutting edge technology for flying and maneuvering at ultra-high speeds in space and air. Future weapons will include powered and unpowered hypersonic vehicles fired from the last stages of ICBMs and submarine missiles, and from the bomb-bays of strategic bombers. Hypersonic cruise missiles and surveillance drones also are expected.  The military advantages of hypersonic craft include precise targeting, very rapid delivery of weapons, and greater survivability against missile and space defenses.

Hypersonic speed is between 3,840 miles per hour and 7,680 miles per hour, also known as Mach 5 to Mach 10.  China military affairs specialists said the hypersonic vehicle test is a significant milestone and appears to be part of China’s development of asymmetric warfare weaponry that Beijing calls “assassin’s mace” weapons—high-technology arms that would assist China’s overall weaker military forces to defeat the more technologically advanced U.S. military.  Mark Stokes, a former U.S. Air Force officer and specialist on China’s strategic weapons systems, said China is working on two hypersonic flight vehicle programs that are long-range strategic arms. Last week’s test appears to be a new post-boost vehicle designed to launch from a missile.  China is also developing a hypersonic, scramjet-powered vehicle that can take off independently or be launched from a bomber. - Washington Times.

Japan Hold War Drill, Simulating Island Retake From China
Japan’s elite paratroopers from the country’s Ground Self-Defense Forces (GSDF) held their annual military drill on Sunday, and for the second year running, the theme of the exercise was the retaking of an island from an enemy. This exercise stands amid the tension that has constantly been growing between Japan and China over a string of uninhabited islets in the East China Sea that are controlled and administered by Tokyo but also claimed by China.

The GSDF dubbed the military exercise “Island Defense”, where the country’s elite airborne troops simulated an attack and an effort to recapture a remote island from an enemy nation. Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera was overseeing the drills, and he has said that it was the SDF’s duty to protect the territory around the disputed islands. “We can never overlook China’s repeated entries into our territorial waters. In addition to diplomatic efforts, we will cooperate with the Coast Guard to securely defend our territory and waters around the Senkaku islands,” Onodera said. At the beginning of the year, Chinese vessels had again breached Japan’s claimed territory around the islands. Three Chinese patrol ships entered the disputed waters early on Sunday, the first time since controversial fishing rules took effect on January 1, rules that were approved by China’s southern Hainan province.

Just as they had unilaterally announced the establishment of a controversial air defense zone that overlapped with the Senkaku Islands (claimed by China as the Diaoyus), these naval incursions are reminders of another unilaterally imposed fishing law which has sparked strong official reactions from Japan and the United States. “Setting something like this unilaterally, as if you are treating them as your own territorial waters, and imposing certain restrictions on fishing boats, is not something that is internationally tolerated,” Onodera said, claiming that China is “threatening the existing international order.” The United States had already spoken out against the fishing rules, saying that they were “provocative and potentially dangerous.”- Japan Daily Press.

FUK-U-SHIMA: Strange Anomalies Have Sprung Up Along The Pacific Coast - Massive Die-Off Of U.S. West Coast Sea Life Is Accelerating?!

January 13, 2014 - UNITED STATES - Locals say it’s far worse than what the national and international media are reporting. Oregon natives confirmed to Infowars Friday that strange anomalies have sprung up along the Pacific coast in what amounts to further testimony supporting the fact the media is suppressing both the surge in extremely high radiation readings along the West Coast and the subsequent die off of sea life in the area.

Several residents in the Charleston fishing village described suspicious anomalies such as disintegrating bioluminescent jellyfish and Japanese “tsunami debris” washing ashore, with one lifetime resident even telling us he saw about a hundred dead starfish near the Bastendorff Beach County Park.

Residents of Charleston, Ore. report new die-offs around the Bastendorff Beach area.

Marine biologists had originally encountered “melting” starfish off the Washington state coast of Puget Sound, a mysterious illness scientists termed “sea star wasting disease.”

“It’s widespread, it’s very virulent and it’s unlike anything we’ve seen in the past,” marine ecologist Pete
Raimondi said to USA Today about the massive starfish die-off.

Previously, Oregon was thought to be, for the most part, isolated from the illness. It had only been encountered “in a tide pool at Tokatee Klootchman State Natural Site, south of Yachats,” according to Rob Davis of The Oregonian.

Earlier this month, David Knight broke down the massive starfish die off:

WATCH:  Sea Change - The Pacific Ocean is Dying.

However, a life long resident of Charleston, who did not want to appear on camera but told us he walked the beach there each day, said he had encountered the phenomenon just south of Bastendorff Beach County Park, suggesting the epidemic is far more widespread than previously speculated.

A representative at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, who also did not want to appear on camera, also said he was aware of the sea star issue.

The highest reading we encountered during our time in Charleston was about 74 CPM off the shore of a marina. One albacore tuna in Charleston tested at 38 CPM, and another at 36 CPM, relatively low levels compared to the readings at Surfer’s Beach — levels that reveal the relative severity of radiation hot spots around the West Coast. reporter Jakari Jackson tests oyster shells for radiation.

News that the inexplicable die off has reached the Oregon coastline follows reports of bizarre activity in the Pacific Ocean.

Last week, scientists in Northern Mexico’s Laguna Ojo de Liebre discovered “what appears to be the first ever documented case of conjoined gray whale calves,” reported StoryLeak’s Mikael Thalen.

“While conjoined twins have been found in several other whale species, a search of the database at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County by local scientists produced no records of conjoined gray whales,” Thalen reported.

Additionally, a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found 98 percent of the ocean floor is littered with dead sea life, a metric that has increased 97 percent in the last two years alone. “In the 24 years of this study, the past two years have been the biggest amounts of this detritus by far,” Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute marine biologist Christine Huffard told National Geographic last November.

Scientists and governments are reluctant to blame the anomalies on radioactive particles leaked into the ocean from the 2011Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear disaster, however, that this could possibly be the cause has not yet been completely ruled out.

Dying shortly after capture earlier this month, these conjoined gray whale calves are just two of the many
sea creatures to die as Fukushima’s radiation plume hits the West Coast. Courtesy of Jesus Gomez

The fact that the federal government recently procured 14 million doses of potassium iodide, a compound meant to protect the thyroid gland in the event of a nuclear disaster, in addition to the fact they would not address the purchase during a phone call, has only stoked concerns that radiation is impacting the West Coast and contributing to the mass die off.

Witnesses we’ve spoken to from as far away as Alaska have mentioned witnessing Japanese tsunami debris wash ashore with visible Japanese writing, however our measurements indicate the radioactivity is concentrated along the West Coast of California. For instance, readings taken at beaches in Bean Hollow State Park and Salinas River State Beach read 100 CPM or higher, compared to readings taken on the Charleston, Oregon, beach which only gave maximum readings of 54 CPM.

We will continue to investigate radioactivity along California’s West Coast. Stay tuned for more. - Info Wars.

PLAGUES & PESTILENCES: Experts Declare That H7N9 Has Mutated And May Spread From Human To Human - China Reports Second H7N9 Bird Flu Death In A Week!

January 13, 2014 - CHINA - Chinese researchers have discovered mutations in the new strain of avian influenza A, known as H7N9, and have found that the virus has the ability to spread from human to human, the latest issue of the Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolis Weekly reported.

the H7N9 bird flu at a poultry market in Zhuji, Zhejiang province January 5, 2014.

George F Gao, vice president of the Beijing Institutes of Life Sciences under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and deputy director-general of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told the Weekly that he and his research colleagues have broken down the mechanisms of transmission of the H5N1 and H7N9 avian flu viruses.

The research team pointed out in a study published in the Science magazine in September last year that they have identified mutations in four key sites of amino acids of the H7N9 strain and found that the virus has an ability to bind to human cells in the upper respiratory tract.

Although the H7N9 and H5N1 viruses have not had the ability to widely spread from human to human, after undergoing genetic mutations and redistribution through mutations, they become better able to bind to human cells in the upper respiratory tract and can evolve into bird flu strains with the ability to transmit among humans, the team says.

In nature, H7N9 is an avian flu virus, but it tends to bind to poultry cells in the lower respiratory tract, Gao said.

He added that although the H7N9 virus can invade cells in the human upper respiratory tract, it only has a limited ability to transmit among humans.

This winter, China reported several human cases of H7N9 bird flu, with two new cases reported Friday in eastern China's Zhejiang province and one death in southern China's Fujian province.

The report said that H5N1 and H7N9 have been two of the the most lethal avian influenza viruses for humans in recent years. Since the first case of human influenza A H5N1 was reported in 1997 in Hong Kong, the virus has affected more than 60 countries around the world, with a fatality rate of 60%.

After a number of human infections of the H7N9 virus have been reported in eastern China, mostly in the Yangtze River Delta region in late February last year, more than 140 human infections of H7N9 have been reported in 12 provinces and cities in China, including 46 deaths, according to the report.

Gao said that closing live poultry markets, adopting more intensive livestock farming practices and using the mass slaughter of live poultry are good measures to control the spread of the H7N9 epidemic.

The Shanghai city government has announced it will shut down live poultry markets from the Lunar New Year holiday (Jan. 31) until April 30. - China Times.

China reported one more death from the H7N9 strain of bird flu in southwestern Guizhou province, state news agency Xinhua said on Monday, in the second death from the virus in the past week.

A 38-year-old man from Zunyi city died last Thursday, Xinhua said, citing health authorities in Guizhou.

Xinhua said it was the first human case of H7N9 in Guizhou this year.

Last Friday, China said a 38-year-old man in eastern Fujian province died from H7N9.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said last week that seven more people in China had been found to be infected with the H7N9 strain of bird flu in the previous week, taking to around 150 the total number of cases so far.

The H7N9 bird flu emerged last year in China and has infected around 150 people there and in Taiwan and Hong Kong, killing at least 45 of them.

Experts say there is no evidence as yet of any easy or sustained person-to person transmission of the strain. But an early scientific analysis of probable transmission of the new flu from person to person, published last August, gave the strongest proof yet that it can at times jump between people and so could cause a human pandemic.

The WHO said the source of the human infections was still being investigated. It stressed that it does not advise any special screening for people going in and out of China, nor does it recommend any travel or trade curbs. - Reuters.

WHO: Death Toll From New China Bird Flu Rises.
Six more people in China have been confirmed as infected with the new H7N9 strain of bird flu and one of them has died, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Monday.

Three of the other five patients are in either a serious or a critical condition in hospital, while the remaining two have mild symptoms, the United Nations health agency said in a disease outbreak update.

H7N9 bird flu emerged last year in China and has infected around 150 people so far there and in Taiwan and Hong Kong, killing at least 46 of them.

The latest death was a 38-year-old man from China's Fujian Province who became ill with H7N9 on January 3, was admitted to hospital on January 8 but died 2 days later. He had underlying illnesses, including tuberculosis and pneumoconiosis.

China's state news agency Xinhua reported another death from H7N9 in the southwestern Guizhou province on Monday, but this has yet to be confirmed by the WHO.

A 65-year-old man infected with H7N9 also died in Hong Kong, the government said on Monday.

The WHO reiterated there is no evidence as yet of any easy or sustained person-to-person transmission of the strain, and that the source of the human infections is still under investigation.

Researchers in the United States said last month that while it is not impossible that H7N9 could become easily transmissible between people, it would need to undergo multiple mutations to do that. Scientists around the world are keeping a watchful eye, on alert for any sign the virus might develop that potential and start to spread rapidly. - Yahoo.

MONUMENTAL FIRE IN THE SKY: Please Take Cover Now - Unprecedented Meteor Fireballs Rain Down Across The United States With Outbreak Of Wildfires; Could This Be Debris From Comet ISON?!

January 13, 2014 - UNITED STATES - Reports are pouring in from across the United States of multiple meteor fireballs streaking across the sky yesterday evening, January 12th, 2014, from approximately 5pm through 7pm, Eastern Standard Time.

Take Cover As Fireballs Rain Down Across The United States With Outbreak Of Wildfires.

Over 170 observation reports were submitted to the American Meteor Society website, in addition to dozens of reports submitted on the Lunar Meteorite Hunters website, from eyewitnesses in northeastern and western states.

Streaks appearing on NOAA's online radar service apparently indicate that the fireballs came in from a northeast-southwest direction:

NOAA radar also picked up some of the fireballs
entering over the Midwest and Northeast US.

In addition to the fireball reports, a number of wildfires have broken out in Oklahoma:

The following testimony is from a SOTT Forum member in Oklahoma.
Ok, I just read the article on SOTT about the apparent meteor outburst over the northeastern states.

I found this article very interesting because, today, I just finished my run and sat down at my computer to listen to the SOTT radio show while I was drinking my water. I was about 45 minutes into the show when I started listening to it. I was probably sitting there for about 10 minutes when my daughter come into my office and told me that the yard was filled with smoke. I went outside and found the yard covered in extremely thick smoke. Visibility was limited beyond about 25 meters. The wind was strong and traveling an a northeasterly direction. I knew from the color and odor of the smoke this was a grass fire and it was close, within 500 meters. With the strong, steady wind speed this thing was going to spread quick.

So, I ran down to the road to see if I could spot the point of origin of the smoke. Was it on my side of the street or the opposite side? When I got to the road I could tell that it was on the opposite side. I yelled up to my wife who was on the porch and had her call 911. I then ran down the road, about 500 meters, located the point of origin of the bellowing smoke, ran up the driveway and assisted an elderly couple fight the fire that was quickly approaching their house. Long story short, I fought that fire for about 30 minutes before the fire department arrived and then helped them fight it for two more hours. So, once it was contained I went back home, took a shower, doctored my injuries and checked the local news, where I read this article.

Here is the interesting thing, by the way all the fires that happened today are not listed in this article, the fire I fought did not start near a road, or anywhere where there was human activity. It started in a pasture, where no humans were, and spread rapidly in a northeast direction, due to the wind speed. About 1000 meters west of this fire another fire broke out. These two fires were not related and were separated by two roads. The firefighters that arrived were swamped and the truck that arrived ran out of water after five minutes. We literally had to use garden hoses, shovels and wet cloths to fight the fire to prevent it from catching on to the juniper trees, which, if it did, would have gone up like gasoline and enabled it to jump the road.

I can say this from my experience, the fire I fought was not started by a human being. Not a campfire, lightning, cigarette butt, or any of the usual suspects. Based on the meteorite article and the number of fires today I strongly think that a small pebble-size meteorites combined with the strong wind started these fires.

So, just something to keep in mind and make preparations for.

If these fires are meteorite caused, depending on their numbers, they WILL overwhelm the fire department, which would normally respond promptly.

So just in case this happens to anyone else, you might want to consider the following:
  • Invest in garden hoses
  • Wet a t-shirt and put it over your mouth and nose to minimize smoke inhalation
  • If you can put on pants and a long sleeve shirt then soak them down (take it from me don't wear jogging shorts you will get burned)
  • If you can get all the leaves out of your gutters, flying embers will ignite them and your roof could catch on fire without your knowing it until its too late. If you can't then saturate your gutters with water to wet the leaves that are inside.
  • If you have any cedar, pine, or juniper trees, try to keep the fire from getting to them. Because of their resin they will burn like gasoline and that will quickly catch on to other trees. Trust me this is very fast. This will turn a grass fire to a forest fire.
Another SOTT Forum member in the Northeast wrote:
Interesting. I heard an overhead explosion last night in north central Massachusetts. I was having a smoke on the porch, so I was outside. I don't know what these things are supposed to sound like but it was loud, above ground but didn't sound to high above the ground.
Another SOTT Forum member in the UK wrote:
I don't know if this is related to the US sightings. On Friday morning (10 January) at about 10:00 GMT here in the south east UK I observed three distinct trails in the sky, one of which split into two at a single point. Whatever created these trails was clearly travelling from east to west. The trails began approximately above London, maybe somewhat further west. They were at 90 degrees to the direction in which the clouds were travelling. I'm not good at estimating atmospheric heights (clouds, planes, etc.) but these trails were higher than the clouds which were quite low. I also observed jet trails in the sky at the same time, and these three trails were much shorter than the jet trails quite different in form, more like the trail left by the Chelyabinsk meteor.
Could this have been debris from Comet ISON? Possibly, though as Robert Lunsford at AMS reports, we're not due to cross that debris stream until January 15th. Based on the fireball stats for 2013, and the flurry of fireballs so far this year (including 95 separate events in the US), it looks like we're in for one hell of ride in 2014! - SOTT.

"Fireball" Seen Streaking Across The Skies Over Northampton.
John and Marianna Connolly of Williamsburg were going on a stroll in Look Park at dusk when they were shocked to see a "fireball" streak across the sky overhead.

"I thought it was fireworks at first, but it was way up there," John Connolly said Sunday, soon after seeing the object at about 5:10 p.m. "It was way brighter than any meteorite I've seen."

Similar reports from people all over New England, New York and New Jersey flooded Twitter and the website of the National Meteor Society soon afterward. Of the 90 reports of the bright object on the website, called a meteorite or fireball by many, 17 were from Massachusetts, including one from Amherst.

Connolly said the fireball was about five times bigger and hundreds of times brighter than most meteorites he has seen. He said it glowed blue and orange as it traveled for three or four seconds northeast across the sky before disappearing behind clouds.

Whatever it was, he said, "it was in the atmosphere for sure, it was burning up."

He noted that it was not completely dark out at the time, and usually meteors are only visible when it is completely dark. "This was very bright, as bright as the moon," he said.

Neither he or his wife heard any noise when they saw the fireball, he said.

A report from Rollingsford, N.H., said the fireball appeared to be about the size of a quarter when held at arm's length and had a trail of sparks. Others commented that it left a green trail and appeared low in the sky. - Daily Hampshire Gazette.

INFRASTRUCTURE & SOCIETAL COLLAPSE: Major & Urgent Alert - Radioactive Plume Is Leaking From The Barnell Nuclear Plant Site; Contaminating Local Groundwater In South Carolina!

January 13, 2014 - UNITED STATES - This week the east coast has been hit with a number of chemical and radioactive disasters that contaminated local communities.

A chemical spill in West Virginia this week left hundreds of thousands of people without water, and thousands sick.  Now it has been reported that a radioactive plume is leaking from a site in South Carolina.

The Barnell Nuclear site occupies about 235 acres of land originally owned by Chem-Nuclear Systems (CNS). Disposal of waste began at the facility in 1971 and Chem-Nuclear Systems (CNS), currently owned by Energy Solutions, has been the sole operator since that time.

According to WLTX, the plume is moving off the Barnwell Nuclear site southwest toward the Savannah River Site.  Traces of Tritium have also been found in Mary’s Branch Creek.

“DHEC has documented there is a plume leaking from the site but the problem with Tritium is it’s hard to remediate, it’s hard to clean it up,” said Tom Clements, Southeast Nuclear Campaign Coordinator for Friends of the Earth.  “So we have to look at ways to stop it from leaking from the dump.”

The site receives toxic waste from South Carolina, New Jersey, and Connecticut and have enough land to stay open through 2038.

“The problem is in their annual updates, there’s no plan to address the leaks,” Clements said.  “We need to make sure the facility is capped off in a better way and better managed so there is less nuclear material leaking.”

“It combines with oxygen to form basically radioactive water.  So, it gets everywhere in the environment,” Clements said.  “The level was far above the drinking water standard but fortunately it doesn’t look like anyone is drinking the water.” - Intellihub.

MASS FISH DIE-OFF: Thousands Of Fish Found Dead In A River In Sao Paulo, Brazil?!

January 13, 2014 - BRAZIL - Water samples were collected by Cetesb to undergo analysis; municipality should initiate an investigation.

Two days after announcing the revitalization of minipantanal, one of the main attractions of Paulinia, the City recorded early on Friday (10), the death of thousands of fish in the River Atibaia. The causes of death, Monday to Secretary of Environment of the city, are the high temperatures, low water level (1.3 meters below the normal level) and especially chemical waste being dumped at the site.

"The water level is much lower, it is not enough to dilute the pollutants discharged by the companies," said environmentalist Henry Padovani, Director of Development Environment Paulinia. According to him, about 3 tons of fish (between tilapia, armored catfish, mandiva, chirped, tuvira, piapara and catfish) died. Water samples were collected by Cetesb to undergo analysis. The municipality should establish a police inquiry into the killing.

The carnage was discovered around 8am yesterday when the municipal guards and Afonso Alves Catarino Laércio Garden Lanza came to Minipantanal and saw thousands of dead fish floating in the river. "It is very sad to see such a scene, especially when we know they are dying because of pollution," said GM Laertius.

The scenery along the river was bleak: many species on the water and the stench almost prevented people from staying in the area. Birds that feed on fish such as vultures, herons and hawks, kept coming to enjoy the feast. "The problem is that they may also suffer and even die because they feed on contaminated fish. This undermines the entire ecosystem. Here is a very large biodiversity. The phenol (chemical dumped by companies) is easily recognized on the water, forms yellow plates. It is very sad. Unfortunately, the river smells like death, "said Padovani.

Even yesterday morning, water samples were collected by Cetesb to undergo analysis. The municipality should establish a police inquiry into the killing.

To reduce environmental degradation in Minipantanal complex, the City of Paulinia said in a statement, which shall carry out desilting the river banks, eliminate aquatic plants such as water hyacinth, which arise because of pollution, notify companies suspected of releasing chemicals in the water and promote educational campaigns to raise awareness about the environmental importance and tourist site. The package is already part of the redevelopment project area, which has the support of the municipalities of Campinas, Americana and Sumaré.

According to Cetesb, samples of water collected by the technician were sent to the company for analysis laboratories. "Therefore, we can not detail exactly what happened until we have the report ready for analysis. We can not confirm the amount of fish, "reported the note.

In a statement, Cetesb confirmed that the flow of the River Atibaia, in Paulínea, is very low for this time of year, because of the lack of rainfall. "In consultation with the site Committees basins Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí, which promotes the flow of water bodies in real time, track flows ranging approximately between 6 and 9.5 m³ / s at the station called Above Paulinia, very low for this time, "said the statement. - Paulinia News.
